Rachel McDowell spent over a decade as a professional stand up comedian, performing all over the country while maintaining a thriving career in a Fortune 100 software company. In 2013, she left Corporate America to follow her dreams of having a career in entertainment. 

She has always been a crowd favorite and was a finalist in countless comedy competitions. She now makes her living as a Voice Actor. Having formerly studied at UCB and The Groundlings, Rachel is a newcomer to Impro Theater and was cast in two of their shows from the 2023 season. UnRealEstate and 80’s Teen Movie (a role she was destined for)! Rachel also starred in the 2023 short film, “Lucille” that won over 10 awards in various Independent Film Festivals!


This Comedian’s Manifesto

Let me start by saying that being a stand up comedian is insanely difficult…I’m not saying brain surgery difficult, but difficult in a different way. It requires a person to be incredibly vulnerable.  Writing our own thoughts and serving them…
